SMI-KWARA ON THE MARCH TO GREATNESS!

The KWARA team held a very successful rally to raise awareness of the increasing maternal deaths in Nigeria. The rally includes: prayer sessions and processions.

PATRONS AND MATRONS APPOINTED

 At the meeting of the management team of SMI Kwara held on the 2nd October, 2010, members identified the need to appoint Grand Patrons, Grand Matrons, Patrons, Matrons and Local Government Coordinators in Kwara State.

The decision became necessary in order to accelerate the achievements of our set goals and objectives in the remaining part of 2010 “SAVE” campaign period.

In the course of our deliberations, members were able to identify a number of philanthropists who have contributed immensely to the development of their respective communities. Thereafter, a unanimous decision was made to start with the appointments of Alhaji Abdulkadri Ajia and Hajia R.A. Shehu as Team Kwara “SAVE” Campaign Patron and Matron respectively. On the 14th of October, 2010, letter of appointments were presented to them at their respective offices (i.e. Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Government Girls Day Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria). The Kwara State Coordinator,  made the presentation assisted by other members of the management team. In their response, after the presentation, the two appointees promised to use their wealth of experience to compliment our efforts towards achieving the set goals.They were delighted and remarked that, the project, indeed is a laudable one and are glad to be part of the organization. They commended the efforts of the initiators and those of us who have volunteered in running the affairs of the organization in different locations of Africa continent.

SMI-KWARA APPOINTS LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA (LGA)COORDINATORS

Firstly I give thanks and glory to Almighty Allah, who made it possible to witness yet another achievement on the 16th October, 2010 with the presentation of appointment letters to six (6) Local Government Area Coordinators.

The team Kwara also extends her profound gratitude to the president, John Nze-Bertram and the International Project Officer, Amanda Scott, who are working relentlessly at making sure that more and more successes are recorded. Indeed, words are not enough to express our delight.

In a colourful presentation ceremony held at the lecture hall of Kwara State College of Nursing, Ilorin Nigeria, six (6) Local Government Coordinators were presented with the Letters of Appointment as Team Kwara SMI/SAVE LGA Coordinators.

I am delighted to inform you that, the occasion was witnessed by our newly appointed Patron and Matron, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ajia and Hajia R.A. Shehu respectively.

In their separate remarks before the presentation, both patron and matron informed the newly appointed LGA coordinators to see their appointments as voluntary and humanitarian services and urged them to be alive to their responsibilities towards achieving the set objectives. In his own remarks, the Kwara State Coordinator, thanked the matron and patron for honouring their invitation and all the 6 LGA coordinators for accepting the offers.

While responding, the representative of the LGA coordinator, Hajia Adama Modupe Ayinde thanked the team Kwara for the confidence reposed in them and promised that, they will immediately commence activities towards achievements of the set goals.

The team kwara, no doubt, now has strong determination in executing

different projects and activities geared towards saving motherhood in

Kwara State and Nigeria in general.
