SAVE Campaign in Ekiti State - A Giant Stride!

Rally Report

The Sweet Mother International Program in Ekiti State has taken a giant stride.

The rally to "Save African Women from Pregnancy Related Deaths" ("SAVE") has successfully been implemented.

The rally started from the Okeyinmi Health Center, where several Ekiti pregnant women were addressed. The SAVE Team, in a seminar presentation to these women, explained the benefit of the SAVE program to improving maternal health and wellbeing in Ekiti State. The women heartily welcomed the program, promising to give all their support.

From the Health Center, the procession moved to the Government Secretariat Ado-Ekiti where all the Governor's Officials approved of the program. They promised giving their full support.

The Team also met with the Chief Medical Director of the Ekiti State Hospital, who showed his appreciation to the initiators and coordinators of the SAVE program.

From there, the rally train proceeded to the Oba Market, where the SAVE Team met thousands of traders, who applauded when the agenda of the SAVE program was explained to them.

Thanks to everyone who supported this rally. We believe that with our collective efforts, the issue of women dying from treatable pregnancy complications will be a thing of the past in our dear state, Ekiti.

We will keep you posted on our progress. Please, visit this page again.
